I was looking for a Google Analytics widget for my dashboard all around the web and to my biggest surprise I only found two that was working: Dashalytics by Rovingrob, and the cleverly named Analytics Widget by Adrian Kenny. The first one has a lot of great features regarding the data but looks aweful, the second one looks nice but doesn’t have many features, so neither of these seemed ideal…
I did a little research on OS X dashboard development and gladly found that all the widgets are developed in HTML, CSS and JavaScript languages, all which I’m really familiar with due to web development. So I started downloading Xcode from the Mac App Store and opened Photoshop to create a layout plan for the widget. The first draft got kind of popular on Dribbble, so I know I was going the right way with it.

Now, couple of days later, ladies and gentlemen I present to you the first version of GAget – Google Analytics Widget for OS X. Download it now!
I’ve always been fascinated by wonderful User Interface elements of some applications. This is one of the many reasons I am using a MacBook running OS X and this is why I believe pixel perfection is one of the most important part of design. As Dribbble is getting updates nearly every month, more and more useful features become available, just like the Buckets feature that makes easy to collect and organize shots that you like into folders that you can share. This actually helped me to pick my favorite UI element shots by far from Dribbble, and here are some of the best.

This beautiful user interface design by Jonathan is a project manager site’s first detailed look. I especially love the blue color choice for the selected item in the sidebar.

Dribbble is a great place to find inspiration. Although being a closed community, there are many great authors all over the site therefore I often use it to explore others’ work and find real inspiration. Here are some great examples from the past couple of weeks to help you if you’re stuck on a project and can’t move on.
Worldview — She be live! by Jesse Dodds
Jesse did a great work on this website header. It is basically a site for campaign monitoring, on how the social media is responding to your marketing moves, but head over to the website if you would like to know more!

A napokban jelent meg az új, 1.4-es verzió jQuery JavaScript fejlesztői környezetből, ezért úgy gondoltam ideje egy bejegyzésben megemlékeznem róla nagy vonalakban. Mi az a jQuery? Mire jó? Használjuk vagy ne használjuk?
jQuery is a fast and concise JavaScript Library that simplifies HTML document traversing, event handling, animating, and Ajax interactions for rapid web development. jQuery is designed to change the way that you write JavaScript.

Láttátok a főoldalon a portfólióm részt?
